Public Office: Santa Clara Cultural Commissioner:
Founded the Commemorative Month series and SC Coloring Book. The Annual Concerts in the Park, Free Fridays: Multicultural Performances, Annual Halloween Decor Competition, Annual Grants for local Arts and Cultural organizations: The Ballet, SC Plays, etc. Annual Street Dance. Managed grants for Triton Museum and Santa Clara Sister Cities.
Library Foundation Board Member and President
Played a Significant role in getting the funding and support to open the Northside Library. Through the foundation, able to get the Library Mobile, Funding for the Wireless Hotspots, Summer Reading Program. Donated books by local Santa Clara and international authors
SC Rotary +10 Yrs: For Low-income students: Steps4Success: new Shoes and Socks Christmas4 Kids : Gifts & New Coats and Games. Participate in the Art and Wine Festival to raise funds. For SC students: Scholarships, ELC (Leadership program). Veterans support to
Community Development & Support: Joy of Sewa and IKOB: Organized and led Manufacturing site for Face Shields and Jobs for laid-off workers. Women: Skills Training. Know-Your-Rights Workshops for Immigrants.Unity and Awareness Campaigns: Organized Youth Anti-Asian-Hate Rally, Multicultural and Interfaith Program. For many years held Community Awareness &Dinner at SC headquarters.
Housing and Streets: Fought for increased community Space, creating more Complete Streets and Public Spaces, and increased Affordable Housing in Mixed Use.
Sister Cities International Board Member and NorCal Support Youth Programs and creation of New Sister City Partnerships. Organizing Humanitarian Aid for partner cities.
SC and SV Chamber: Revived the Silicon Valley Central Chamber of Commerce. Promote and Support Small Businesses, Economic Forums, creating new programs for home-based businesses. Hosting International Delegations from Europe, Africa, India, and East Asia
Red Cross: Co-Chaired Annual Fundraiser to raise funding for Cal Fires and Disasters – $500K
Disaster Relief: COVID Relief: Organized 500 volunteers to build +50,000 masks for schools, law enforcement, front-line workers, hospitals, etc. Built Food-Pantry to serve +1000 families and Seniors. Groceries for SCUSD. Ukraine Aid: From the beginning of the war Helping people escape Ukraine’s conflict zone. Through grassroots funding and coordination, organized and delivered medical, power, vehicles, generators, and humanitarian aid. Turkey Earthquake: With grassroots funding, organized and delivered supplies to build a tent city. Gujrat Earthquake: organized programs to raise awareness and funding. India’s Floods Relief and COVID relief.
Conferences & Festivals: Introducing new programs, organized 1st Inaugural Diwali Festivals, Annual TiE Conference bringing programming providing education and insights for entrepreneurship. Organized Concerts for Shankar Mahadevan, Kailash Kher, Ishmeet Narula and RDB
